Mohammed Alhamali
Chairman of the National Innovation & Sandbox, Chief Innovation Officer SVH, MoH
Dr. Mohammed Alhamali is the Chairman of the National Innovation & Regulatory Sandbox Committee and Chief Innovation Officer SVH at SEHA Virtual Hospital & Enablement Centre of the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Alhamali is also the co-founder and General Manager of the Society of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and has served as a Strategy Consultant for Health Sector Transformation Program (HSTP) and Director of Research & Development at the Model of Care Vision Realization Office 2030. Dr. Alhamali has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery - (MBBS, Dentistry), from King Saud University and a Master of Science - (MS, Oral Biology and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology) from UCLA.

Nacer Eddine Mami
Clinical Lead, Regional Network, MIT Jameel Clinic
Dr. Nacer Mami, MD is the Clinical Lead for MIT Jameel Clinic's Regional Network in the MENA region. He has over 16 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry at various multinational companies. He has six years of experience in Medical Governance, with two years in the market and four years covering the Africa Middle East Region.

Dina Katabi
Principal Investigator, MIT Jameel Clinic
Dina Katabi is a Thuan and Nicole Pham Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Director of the MIT Center for Wireless Networks for Mobile Computing. As a member of Jameel Clinic, Dr. Katabi's research focuses on innovations in mobile computing, wireless sensing, and machine learning with application to digital health. Her lab has spun out startups including PiCharging and Emerald. She is a recipient of the MacArthur "Genius Grant” and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Her research has been recognized with the ACM Prize in Computing, the ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award, the SIGCOMM Test of Time Award, the NSF Career Award, and others. As of this year, Dr. Katabi is also a newly inducted member of the Academy of Arts & Sciences.

Mona Almeheid
Head of Healthcare, NCAI, SDAIA
Dr. Mona Almeheid is the Head of Healthcare at the National Center of AI (NCAI), which operates under the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA). She has over 19 years of experience in implementing and managing healthcare systems across a number of entities including the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) with consultancy experience. is a Graduate in pharmacy and master degree holder in Health Informatics.

Batoul AlBaz
VP for Health Sector, KACST
Dr. Batoul AlBaz is a senior researcher and executive with a career of fifteen years of professional research and management experience. She serves today as the Vice President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) for the Health Sector. Prior to her appointment, she was the Director of the National Centre for Genomic Technologies and Bioinformatics at KACST. Dr. AlBaz is a licensed Consultant by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Saudi Arabia. She is an active researcher with many scientific publications in peer review journals and a highly regarded speaker in national and international conferences. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Queensland, School of Medicine (Australia) in experimental dermatology and genetics, and completed her postdoctoral training in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC). Throughout her career, Dr. AlBaz has participated in various transformational projects sharing her expertise in managing research projects, building their strategies and enhancing their development and innovation stances. She has a special interest in strategy formation and execution for innovation in relation to health and scientific research systems nationally and internationally.

Abdulaziz Alhomod
Chief Medical Officer, SEHA Virtual Hospital
Dr. Abdulaziz Suliman Alhomod is the Chief Medical Officer of SEHA Virtual Hospital, a state-of-the-art entity created by the Saudi Ministry of Health, which is the largest in the world and the first of its kind in the Middle East. He was trained at Baylor College of Medicine, working at many leading organizations including the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children's Hospital, and the famous Ben Taub Hospital that forms part of the Texas Medical Center. His comprehensive training in the US includes a dedicated research fellowship and a master's degree in biomedical informatics from OHSU.

Shada Alsalamh
Assistant Professor, King Saud University and Technical Officer, WHO
Dr. Shada Alsalamah is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Information Systems Security at the College of Computer and Information Science, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. Currently, Dr. Alsalamah is a full-time Consultant at the Department of Digital Health and Innovation, World Health Organization. Between 2017-2019 she joined the MIT Media Lab as a Visiting Scholar working on the applications of the blockchain and open algorithms in the digital healthcare arena. In 2019, she co-founded the Global Co-Creation Laboratory at the MIT Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES).

Hassan Jameel
Vice Chairman, Community Jameel
Hassan Jameel is Vice Chairman of Community Jameel, an independent, global organisation advancing science and learning for communities to thrive. In this role, Hassan has supported Community Jameel’s efforts to tackle some of humanity’s greatest challenges, including: global poverty; water and food security; the future of education; machine learning in health; data modelling of disease; and early action against hunger. Hassan holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, and gained an MBA from the London Business School. He speaks English, Arabic, and Japanese.

Ignacio Fuentes Ribas
Executive Director, MIT Jameel Clinic
Ignacio Fuentes Ribas is the Executive Director at the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (MIT Jameel Clinic). In this role he aims to develop excellent research work in the areas of artificial intelligence, life sciences, and medicine, fostering a strong community committed to growth and impact to create longstanding value at MIT and in the world. With experience driving strategy and change management across industries, Ignacio has held leadership positions as an international executive in the Generali group, General Electric, and Santander. His research interests lie at the intersection of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and education.

Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Rumaih
Deputy Minister, Ministry of Health
Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Rumaih was recently appointed deputy minister for planning and development at the Ministry of Health, following a royal decree. Prior to joining the ministry, he held strategic development roles at numerous consulting and health agencies. From 2018 to 2020, he was managing director for health and public services in the Middle East with professional services company Accenture responsible for developing business management consultation that offered clients interactive solutions via technology and operations. Between 1998 and 2018, he worked as chief information officer of health informatics services at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs helping strengthen clinical care through special training programs using cutting-edge technology. He also acted as vice president of the Saudi Association for Health Informatics. He gained a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from King Saud University, a master’s degree in computer and information networks from the University of Essex, in the UK, and a master’s degree in general management and finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Marzyeh Ghassemi
Principal Investigator, MIT Jameel Clinic
Dr. Marzyeh Ghassemi is an Assistant Professor at MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and Institute for Medical Engineering & Science (IMES). She is a Principal Investigator at MIT Jameel Clinic. Prior to her PhD in CS at MIT, Dr. Ghassemi received an MSc. degree in biomedical engineering from Oxford University and B.S. degrees in CS and electrical engineering as a Goldwater Scholar at New Mexico State University.

Saad Alhuzami
Chief Data Officer, MoH
Eng. Saad Alhuzami is the Chief Data Officer of the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saad has extensive experience in developing and implementing AI-based systems and has been actively involved in promoting ethical AI practices. He oversees several implementation of practical AI models. Before that he worked as the research and development director in Thiqah business services. His experience is focused on devoting AI and ML to enable realistic and practical use-cases that can uplift and optimize the business value. He has a bachelor degree in CS and a master degree in information systems, and currently he is a PhD candidate in computer science. In the past, he has worked at STC, Ministry of education, SAMA and Elm.

Areej Al-Wabil
Director of the AI Center at Alfaisal University and HCI Design Lab
Dr. Areej Al-Wabil is a faculty member in the College of Engineering at Alfaisal University, and the Director of Alfaisal's AI Center and the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Design Lab, a multidisciplinary research and development center, specializing in emerging technologies. Her human-centered approach to developing emerging AI technologies focuses on improving everyday workflows and quality of life. From brain-sensing to eye-tracking interactive technologies, the HCI Lab's award-winning technologies are changing the way people with disabilities work, live and learn. Through such experience, Dr. Areej has developed a deep knowledge of trends in emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, medtech, intellectual property (IP) creation and IP commercialization. Towards this end, Dr. Areej served in the role of Executive Director of IP Enablement at the Saudi Arabian Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) in 2019 and led the team which spearheaded KSA’s network for WIPO’s Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC). Dr. Areej spent her formative years primarily in the United States and worked in the US, UK, and Saudi Arabia. She attended the George Washington University, the University of Texas, City University of London and MIT’s School of Engineering. More recently, she joined MIT’s Ideation Lab in the School of Engineering as an Ibn Khaldun Fellow, and was an Honorary Fellow at the University of Kent’s School of Engineering and Design. She then proceeded with MIT’s Executive Education programs at the Sloan School of Management, where she focused on Innovation, Management and Leadership.

Yazid Alazwari
Head of New Technologies Assessment, SFDA
Yazid Alazwari holds a Master degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney. Previously, he was a Scientific Evaluation Senior Specialist in the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) where over the years, he participated in building a Medical Device Classification Online System that is live and effective today. Prior to the SFDA, he worked at Siemens HealthCare as a costumer relation specialist where he enhanced the relationship between hospitals and medical centres.

Khaled Aldhaayan
GM Ecosystem & Projects, NCAI, SDAIA
Khaled Aldhaayan is the GM, Ecosystem & Projects for the National Center for AI (NCSAI) and Saudi Authority for Data & Artifical Intelligence (SDAIA). He received his EMBA in Business Administration and Management from the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College of Business & Entrepreneurship (MBSC).

Fotini Christia
Principal Investigator, MIT Jameel Clinic
Fotini Christia is the Ford International Professor of the Social Sciences in the Department of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an affiliate of Jameel Clinic. She is Director of the Sociotechnical Systems Research Center (SSRC), Associate Director of the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS), and Chair of the doctoral program in Social and Engineering Systems (SES) at MIT’s Schwarzman College of Computing. Her research interests include issues of conflict and cooperation in the Muslim world, and she has conducted fieldwork in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iraq, Iran, the Palestinian Territories, Syria, and Yemen. She is also working to bridge the social sciences, data science, and computation by bringing researchers from these disciplines together to address systemic racism across housing, healthcare, policing, and social media.

Mohammad Alhamid
Director of CHI, KSFHRC
Dr. Mohammad Alhamid is the Director of the Centre of Healthcare Intelligence (CHI) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC). At CHI, Dr. Alhamid works with clinical and operational leaders to build and deploy high-quality applied Healthcare Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for enhancing quality of care, streamlining workflow operations, and improving patient experience using best practice operational and responsible AI pipelines. Prior to his current role, Mohammad was an Advisory and AI Technical Lead at IBM US/Canada as well as a faculty and Chairman of the Software Engineering Department at King Saud University. Dr. Alhamid has more than 60 publications and submitted 8 patent applications. Dr. Alhamid holds a Ph.D. and master degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

Sultan Alzahrani
Assistant Professor, KACST
Dr. Sultan Alzahrani is an Assistant Professor at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). With over a 15 years of academic and professional experience in technology at KACST, Arizona State University, and the University of South California, he specializes in data science and artificial intelligence. His roles have consistently revolved around academic mentorship, research arbitration, and leadership in decision support endeavors. With his unique multidisciplinary perspective, integrating academia, rigorous research, and industry practices, his contributions to pivotal projects and mentorship efforts reflect a commitment to advancing the field and fostering the next generation of technology professionals.

Ahmed Alsinan
Senior Research Scientist, SDAIA
Dr. Ahmed Alsinan is a Senior Research Scientist for the NCAI at SDAIA. Previously, Dr. Alsinan was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University where he worked on image processing, computer vision, and machine learning projects with a particular focus on the development of deep learning-based solutions to medical image synthesis, segmentation, classification, and reconstruction. He worked with Dr. Geoffrey Sonn in his Urologic Cancer Innovation Laboratory (UCIL) and Dr. Mirabela Rusu in her Laboratory for Integrative Personalized Medicine (PIMed). He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI) in 2010 and 2013, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ) in 2020. His research interests include signal processing, computer vision, deep learning, and machine learning.

Shrooq Alsenan
Assistant Professor, PNU and Research Affiliate, MIT Jameel Clinic
Shrooq Alsenan is an Assistant Professor at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University and the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center at CCIS with a PhD in Information Systems Sciences from King Saud University. She was a Postdoc Researcher and a research fellow at Jameel Clinic and CSAIL. Dr. Alsenan’s research interests focus on AI in healthcare and the transformation of the traditional drug discovery pipeline with AI and machine learning for molecular modeling, visualization, early disease diagnostics. She is recipient of the healthcare innovation research chair grant at KSU. Her research was recognized with a 1st place distinguished PhD dissertation in the Annual Awards Ceremony for Excellence in Scientific Research at King Saud University 2022.
